April 2017 Pantry by Try The World Box Review Wrap-Up
Once again, our Pantry by Try The World delivered a variety of cooking essentials. We love that we get to experience new flavors and foods from different countries in each box. Our customized Pantry by Try The World box veered more on the sweeter side this month. Don’t forget, you can customize your own monthly box to only include the types of pantry items you want.
There were two fruit spreads in our April Pantry By Try The World box. The Yoffi Date Spread is delicious on crackers or to add some sweetness to cooking. It has a rich flavor and you can tell that they used fresh dates. We’ve never heard of the Jabuticaba fruit and were interested to try it. This is one of those foods we would probably never eat, if it wasn’t for Try The World. It has a unique blackberry-like flavor. It is sweet and has an almost peppery finish.
Next we have three sweet treats – cookies, candy and cake! The Citrus Crumble Cakes from Spain are a great treat with coffee or tea, or even alone as a sweet snack. Each of these cakes is individually wrapped. The cake crumbles as you take a bit and there’s a lovely, light, citrus jelly between the layers. For a little sweet and spice, the Swedish Ginergsnaps are the answer. These thin, crispy cookies have a great crunch and almost melts in your mouth. Finally, you can get your sugar fix with the Belgium hard candies. This toffee-like hard candy has a nice, buttery flavor that isn’t too sweet.
